Academic Text, Professional Text and Public Text are three forms of text I was taught how to properly identify and analyze after taking this course. Usually reading text assigned by an instructor reading it is basically the most you do if that. However I can say that in this course not only did I read the text but I can identify the genre of the text and analyze it. Through this course, there were a wide range of opportunity experienced. I say this because we are able to write our own academic text, to composing blog post to utilizing twitter post for bettering our education. I will not lie, starting this course I wondered how so many elements would be connected to a course I thought was all about writing papers and creating an understanding of how to use rhetoric. But the tweeting, blogging and CSW are wonderful contributions to the course.
This is also important because if we are able to utilize these elements in the academic process, education possibilities will only grow significantly.
